Lucasfilms har nu officiellt gått ut med att Project Luminous är deras nya Star Wars satsning. Den nya delen av Star Wars universumet heter Star Wars: The High Republic som är en serie böcker och serietidningar. De kommer utspela sig 200 år innan Star Wars: Episode 1 – Phantom Menace.
I Augusti 2020 under Star Wars Celebration Anaheim kommer dessa nya berättelser börja att utforskas. Projektet är som är planerat att fortsätta i fler år framåt och den första fasen i sagan kommer bestå att en grupp hjältar som kallas Light of the Jedi. Den här gruppen kommer expandera vart eftersom i franchisen.
“Star Wars: The High Republic features the Jedi as we’ve always wanted to see them — as true guardians of peace and justice. This is a hopeful, optimistic time, when the Jedi and the Galactic Republic are at their height. But of course, into this glorious new era something wicked this way comes,” says Lucasfilm publishing creative director Michael Siglain. “This initiative will give readers young and old a new corner of the galaxy to explore through rich, meaningful stories. Plus, readers will learn what scares the Jedi.”
